Amy Sallenbach is a multi-disciplinary artist who has purposefully left the constraints of gravity behind, one way or another, via the arts and aviation. Born in Calgary, raised in southern Alberta, she graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2001, narrowly escaping attending her own final graduating jury critique by going into labor immediately after installing it. This timely birth earned her the honorable distinction of 2nd best excuse to get out of your final crit (1st place went to contracting necrotizing fasciitis in case you're wondering). Her work focuses on integrating a sense of connection with the spirit of invention, fate, mental health and the human condition. She has exhibited throughout Western Canada and in private collections coast to coast. Currently residing in Edmonton, Alberta she continues to have excellent timing.
